Profhilo is an ideal treatment choice if you are looking to noticeably boost skin hydration and radiance, treat skin laxity, soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and / or improve overall skin quality.

As Profhilo continues to improve skin quality and gently lift the treated areas over time, it's a popular option for people looking for longer term, as well as natural-looking results.

Profhilo can be used to treat skin on the mid to lower face, neck, decolletage and other areas of the body, including upper arms, hands, knees and stomach, so perfect if you would like to address skin quality in these areas.

Although Profhilo can be given to all age groups over 18, it is particularly suited to people in their 30s and 40s, as an effective means of prolonging youthful radiance.

Profhilo is formulated with a unique form of hyaluronic acid, the molecule which occurs naturally in the skin but depletes over time with ageing. As a 'humectant', hyaluronic acid retains up to 1000 times its weight in water, hence its ability to deeply hydrate and nourish skin.

Profhilo is injected into specific insertion points in the mid to lower face (or neck & other areas of the body) where it prompts a reaction in fibroblast cells in the skin's dermis to trigger new collagen and elastin production, and continues to do so over 3 to 6 months. The result is dewy and glowing appearance.

Delivered over a course of 2 treatments, Profhilo injections create small 'bumps' on the skin surface, from where the injectable moisturiser disperses across the treated area in the skin's dermis ie treating the wider area surrounding the injections points. These 'bumps' last for around 12 - 24 hours and can be gently massaged a few hours after treatment.

Profhilo is unique in its ability to stimulate multiple types of collagen and elastin and, as a result, increases dermal thickness and elasticity, meaning it has better 'bounce' again, like more youthful skin.

We recommend that you have Profhilo at least 2 weeks before any important social / work events. And you'll have the second treatment two weeks after the first so we book your appointments accordingly.

To reduce the risk of bruising, we advise you to avoid:

• Alcohol for 24 hours beforehand

• Aspirin, ibuprofen & Omega-3 supplements for 2 days before

After treatment, we advise you to:

• Not apply makeup for 30 minutes

• Avoid travelling for 24 hours

Numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area beforehand to reduce any discomfort.

Downtime is normally minimal with some redness in the treated area, as well as small bumps at the injection sites for around 12 - 24 hours.

As with any injectable, there is a small chance that bruising and/or swelling may occur (normally within 48 hours from treatment).

Typically you'll see improvement after 1 month and then optimal results are usually visible around 3 months after Profhilo treatment.

We recommend a review to discuss results after 6 - 12 months. Dependent on how your skin has responded, you may opt for further treatment to maintain the benefits - this varies by patient but expect somewhere in the region of every 3 to 12 months.
